Graphic design isn’t just about creating pretty things — it’s about understanding people.
Before you even open Photoshop or Canva, you need to listen.
Clients don’t always know how to explain what they want.
It’s your job to read between the lines — to ask questions, understand their vision, and guide them to something that actually fits their brand.
it’s something I’ve learnt over time, project by project.
Every design you make is saying something.
A logo, a flyer, even a social media post — it’s all about how someone feels when they see it.
I’ve learnt to think:
What message is this sending?
Will the right audience understand it?
Is it simple enough to stick?
That kind of thinking doesn’t just improve your design — it sharpens your overall communication.
One of the first things you learn as a designer? Not everyone will love your first idea.
And that’s okay.
Clients will ask for changes. Some feedback will make your work better. Some won’t. But every round teaches you how to stay creative under pressure — and how to separate your work from your worth.
Seriously. You can have amazing design skills, but if you miss deadlines, ignore feedback, or don’t follow the brief… people won’t come back.
Being consistent, professional, and easy to work with matters just as much as your portfolio.
Listening is just as important as creating.
negative Feedback isn’t failure — it’s part of the process.
Reliability beats raw talent every time.
