Good morning {{first_name}}

After 5 years 1,825 days I’ve officially completed secondary school.

I’ll be honest, from an academic perspective I didn’t learn as much as I expected. But looking back now, I’ve realised school was never just about grades.

What I actually took away is something different. Something more useful in real life.

I’ve learned how to build friendships the real ones, the ones that last, and also how to let go of the ones that don’t. I’ve learned how important it is to protect your circle and be intentional about the people around you.

I’ve learned communication and confidence in ways I didn’t expect.

One moment that sticks with me…

I remember sitting in design class we were presenting our coursework. The teacher gave us a choice either stay at our desks and present from there, or go to the front of the class.

I was about to stay seated, like everyone else.

Then a classmate next to me said, “I’ll give you £1 if you go up and present.”

So I did.

Not for the pound but because it made me realise something in that moment: opportunities don’t wait.

Even if it started as a dare, it taught me I don’t always have to follow the crowd or stay comfortable just because everyone else is doing it.

I walked to the front and presented.

And that moment stayed with me.

Another lesson came outside the classroom.

I remember walking past Akeim Mundell one day and just thinking he had a strong background, and was someone respected in the community. Someone with real experience.

So I thought, why not reach out?

A week later, we were sat in his office for 45 minutes having a conversation that genuinely taught me a lot. Why wanted to stop knife crime and much more That moment changed how I see opportunities. Not waiting for perfect timing just acting when something feels right and creating conversations that matter.

Alongside all of this, I’ve also been building my design business, MYS Designs Branding Agency. Balancing that with school wasn’t always easy, but it taught me discipline, time management and that anyone can do anything if they are determined enough

More than anything, I’ve learned people matter. Not just what you achieve, but who you grow with along the way.

It’s been 5 years of lessons, challenges, growth, and experiences I’ll carry with me for life.

This chapter is closed but the story isn’t.

And I’ll say this clearly… I’ll be back.

One day, I want to stand in front of students and remind them that GCSEs are just a piece of paper. They don’t define your worth, your path, or your future.

This is just the beginning.
