First of all, I want to apologise for today’s letter being later than usual.
I’d rather send something meaningful than just write for the sake of it.
And today’s letter is about something that happened a few weeks ago
Picture this.
It’s Friday.
You’ve just had one of your most productive weeks ever . You get on a discovery call, everything goes brilliantly, and before the call even ends, you see the notification:
“Your invoice has been paid.”
I’m 16 years old.
And in that moment, I had just made more money than I ever had in a single sitting.
Now you’d expect the first thought to be:
“What should I buy?”
But it wasn’t.
My first thought was:
“How do I use this to make more?”
Almost instinctively.
Because I realised something in that moment.
Money isn’t something to spend.
It’s something to use wisely.
Every pound now had a purpose.
Do I reinvest into better tools?
Do I use it to buy back time so I can focus on higher-value work?
That one payment didn’t feel like a reward.
It felt like responsibility.
Because once you know you can make money…
The real game becomes keeping it, growing it, and using it properly.
I didn’t rush to spend anything on myself.
Not because I couldn’t.
But because I didn’t need to.
Instead, the only thing I bought that week was flowers.
For my grandmother and my mother.
Because while money is a tool for growth…
It’s also a tool for appreciation.
And if you can’t use it to give back to the people who supported you, then what’s the point?
